Our story
Art first, and the people who walk in.
Monarch Ink is a muralist-owned business. Shawn Smith built it as a place that values art and community in equal measure, and the eye that plans a wall-sized painting set the standard for what leaves this studio on skin.
The shop keeps it laid back. Clients keep saying the same thing: nobody here rushes. The stencil gets drawn and moved until it’s what you want, and then the work starts.
The name
Thin wings. Long way.
Every fall, monarchs cross a continent on wings thinner than paper to winter in the mountains of central Mexico.
We like that about them. A good tattoo goes the distance too.
