After you leave
Aftercare
The tattoo is half ours. The healing is yours. If your artist told you something different for your piece, do what they said.
Tattoos
- Keep the wrap on for as long as your artist said.
- Wash gently with clean hands and mild, unscented soap, then pat dry with a clean paper towel.
- Use a thin layer of unscented lotion or the ointment your artist recommends. Thin is the word.
- No pools, lakes, hot tubs or long soaks until it has healed.
- Keep it out of the sun, and use sunscreen once it has healed.
- Don’t pick or scratch. It will peel and itch. That’s normal.
Piercings
- Clean it with sterile saline, as your piercer showed you.
- Leave the jewelry alone. No twisting, and clean hands only.
- Stay out of pools, lakes and hot tubs while it heals.
- Watch for snagging on hair, clothes and pillowcases.
- Don’t change the jewelry until your piercer says it’s ready.
Permanent makeup
- Keep the area clean and dry for the first days.
- No makeup on the area while it heals.
- Skip the sauna, hard workouts and direct sun at first.
- Let any flaking fall on its own.
- Color looks strong at first and softens as it heals.
Something doesn’t look right?
Text us a photo and we’ll take a look. Heat, spreading redness, swelling that gets worse or a fever means see a doctor. Don’t wait on us for that.
